Oak Lodge Road NOTICE

The Big Cedar Lake Protection & Rehabilitation has been asked to share information from the property owners on Oak Lodge Road as there has been growing confusion regarding access near that PRIVATE road.

The party involved has been working with the Town of West Bend's Washington County Deputy to monitor visitors more closely and to issue trespassing violations if necessary.

Here is the information that they have requested that we share:

"There has been growing confusion regarding access to Oak Lodge Road.  The ONLY Public access is from German Village Road.  Public access ends with the pavement.  The gravel road, extending to Cedar Creek and the Spillway, is Private Property.  It is posted with No Trespassing signs.

Confusion may exist because the Cedar Lakes Conservation Foundation does own property east of the privately held parcel.  The Foundation does have trails for public access and enjoyment from Uncle Dick’s Road and Timmer’s Bay Road.

Unlike some lakes in Wisconsin, there is no easement designated for crossing private land near the shore.  The “Feet in the Water” law is applicable on Big Cedar Lake.

An increasing number of complaints and encounters has encouraged us to educate and remind everyone of the laws.  Please exercise respect.  Thank you!"
